Brief
A world leader in providing weather and climate services, the Met Office is recognised as one of the world’s most accurate forecasters, using more than 10 million weather observations a day! The Met Office approached Quad Vision to design and install a statement video wall at their Exeter HQ. Suitable for a wide range of media and web-based presentation, the video wall was to act as the centerpiece for all visual communications.
The Solution
Quad Vision produced a bespoke solution comprising 9 ultra thin bezel 46″ HD displays, each display independently driven at a resolution of 1920 x 1080 with an overall resolution of 5760 x 3240 or 18.6 mega pixel.
The key challenge was to provide a swift turnkey solution to minimise impact on daily running of the Met Office HQ. The Quad Vision team worked with a range of contractors to provide a seamless integration, on time and to budget.
Quad Vision provided a complete solution including the controller and eSign digital signage software to control the content. The monitors were designed into a false wall with Quad Vision working with other contractors and providing installation to ensure the full installation went smoothly.
The video wall has the ability to play multiple web content, media and videos, in either screen or over multiple screens. Content and audio is controllable by a wireless tablet interface.
Quad Vision provided a full turnkey installation. Full training was provided to the Met Office marketing team to allow them to remotely update content including live weather information and images.
